Eenadu ( ఈనాడు, Today/This Land) Telugu language daily newspaper
In the landscape of Telugu-language journalism, there exists a clear division: Before Eenadu and After Eenadu. The birth of Eenadu in 1974 marked more than just the launch of a newspaper—it signified the fulfillment of a long-standing desire among Telugu-speaking people for a publication that truly represented their language, their identity, and their perspectives.
Conceived in Visakhapatnam by media visionary Ramoji Rao, Eenadu was created to speak to the hearts of Telugus across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Today, it is not just a newspaper—it is the voice of the Telugu people.
With a stronghold in both states, Eenadu reaches more homes than any other daily. As of December 2022, its circulation stood at 1,351,956 copies per day (ABC). At its peak in Q2 2019, it achieved a circulation of 1,614,105 copies, making it one of India’s largest circulated dailies. Even after the 24.18% dip during the COVID-19 pandemic, it remains a dominant force in regional media. The newspaper is simultaneously published from 21 printing centers, ensuring wide and timely distribution.
